Status: on-going digitisation

Within the framework of the VISK 6 project we are gradually processing a series of interesting historical documents. The digitised materials are regularly added to Manuscriptorium.

VISK 6 – Information about the programme
 The basic objective of the programme is to digitise scarce documents belonging to libraries and other collections which represent an important component of the national cultural heritage, in order to ensure their conservation and render them widely accessible. The programme implements the necessary technology for the digitisation of scarce documents and facilitates the broadest possible participation of libraries and other institutions administering valuable historical resources in accordance with the principles of the UNESCO Memory of the World programme.
The conversion of scarce documents to digital format will enhance the quality of their conservation and simultaneously place them at the disposal of scholars throughout the world, making this sub-programme an important factor in the democratisation of access to valuable information resources.
