Manuscriptorium Update - June 2012

They are monuments of the Czech language and literature (the so-called Dlabač’s Old Testament, the so-called Strahov New Testament, The Lives of the Fathers of the Desert, Barlaam and Josaphat), theological and liturgical manuscripts and a volume of annals of the Jesuit Province of Bohemia for 1730–1733.
The collections of the National Library of the CR are represented by several manuscripts, or the binders’ volumes of manuscripts and printed books, from the former library of the Franciscan Monastery in Cheb; the most important among the others is the first volume of the History of the Bohemian Brethren, formerly ascribed to Jan Blahoslav. A smaller homogeneous group consists of fragments of incunabula. The digitisation of the collections of the Music Department of the NL CR has continued with several prints. Two manuscripts have been made accessible also from the collections of the Slavonic Library.
